So, last night something happened that confirmed I have an outstanding and smart little boy. Eddie wanted to know a little more about Amelia Earhart. He was watching a movie, and there was someone who played her, and he became interested. So, together we looked up on *Google no less, Amelia Earhart. We learned that she saw an airplane for the very first time at the age of 10, at her State Fair. She was the first person to fly the Pacific Ocean, and then in 1935, in an attempt to fly around the world she disappeared. I think the mystery to this story has captivated his little mind and attention. We read about the last radio transmissions that she made and received, and about the search efforts to find her, and her companion, who flew with her to help navigate. At that time, they spent 4 million dollars to try and find any sign of her, to no avail. Search efforts were stopped, and she was declared legally dead. She has a legacy that lives on till this day in the hearts and minds of many... including my incredibly smart 8 year old, Eddie Paul.
